ON AN OVERCAST, windless April morning, photographer spotted some fishing on a glassy pond in Florida’s . He raced to the spot and captured this perfect portrait of a skimmer and its mirrored reflection. “I call it ‘Silent Running,’” says Higgins. “With long wings designed like a drone, these birds just coast across the water. It’s amazing to watch.”
