WASHINGTON, D.C. — Brian Nesvik’s confirmation to lead the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service offers a renewed opportunity for the agency to strengthen collaboration with states and Tribes to help the nation’s fish and wildlife populations thrive for future generations. Nesvik is the former director of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
“Brian Nesvik’s confirmation allows the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to move forward with its important work. He has been a particularly strong proponent for conserving big game migration corridors and expanding hunting and fishing in Wyoming, and his wildlife management experience is of exceptional value to the agency,” said Mike Leahy, senior director of wildlife, hunting, and fishing policy at the National Wildlife Federation. “We look forward to working with Nesvik to support and fund the professionals at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as they continue to pursue a science-based, collaborative approach to recovering imperiled species — while providing opportunities for all people to enjoy the great outdoors.”
